Who we are

The Caliguiri Group provides a full range of public affairs services, operating at the intersection of business, non-profits, associations, government and the media. We work with our clients to develop and implement strategic communications, grassroots issue advocacy campaigns, government affairs and economic development strategies to help your organization or project succeed.

Collectively, our team has more than 40 years of experience and expertise in public affairs. We have worked at all levels of government–local, state, federal–and understand how to put our experience to work to meet your goals.

David J. Caliguiri

David founded The Caliguiri Group, a public affairs and strategic communications firm in 2011. He has nearly 20 years of experience in government, public affairs and strategic communications. He successfully managed the political campaigns of Senator Jay Costa, Jr., and Mayor Tom Murphy and was an integral part of Pittsburgh First’s campaign for a PA state gaming license. He spent 4 years as a lobbyist with the law firm of Eckert Seamans where he represented clients before local and state governments and 2 ½ years at GSP Consulting before starting his own business, The Caliguiri Group.

David is an active member of the Pittsburgh community and sits on the boards of the Carnegie Science Center, the Downtown YMCA, Academy Charter School & Junior Achievement where he was recently awarded Junior Achievement’s Alumni Award for 2012. He is a graduate of Syracuse University and the University of Pittsburgh School of Law. David lives in Squirrel Hill with his wife Katy and three kids, Maxwell, Ellie & Sam.

Michele Rosenthal

Michele Rosenthal is a skilled community relations and government relations professional with more than 20 years of experience in Pittsburgh. Michele has deep ties to the Pittsburgh community, having worked at a high level in complex public and private organizations.

Prior to her current role, Michele spent 10 years as the Community Relations Manager for the Pittsburgh Steelers, where she worked to develop and strengthen relationships with community stakeholders on behalf of Steeler players, staff, and the organization. She also worked with local and national media to generate positive coverage of the external work of the players and the team.

Before working with the Pittsburgh Steelers, Michele spent five years as the Senior Executive Assistant to the Mayor of Pittsburgh, where she provided counsel and guidance to the Mayor and his team, worked on the Mayor’s government relations priorities, and managed implementation of a wide range of special projects. Michele also previously served as the Chief of Staff to a member of the PA House of Representatives. She resides in Squirrel Hill with her husband Bob.
